Tom Fleming, Director of Risk Management, has over 27 years of experience in Risk Management in private equity, real estate and investment partnerships, as well as numerous public companies involved in information technology and manufacturing processes.
Prior to joining Independence Capital Partners, Tom was Vice President of The Addis Group, a leading insurance broker, serving as the lead consultant for diagnostic risk management audits conducted for prospective clients of the firm. Tom also served for 18 years as the Risk Manager of Safeguard Scientifics Inc. – a $3 billion diversified information technology company with 5,000 employees. In this capacity, he was responsible for the integration, evaluation, planning, and execution of liability minimization strategies for Safeguard Scientifics, its subsidiaries, and affiliated investments. While at Safeguard, he also served in various other financial positions including Trustee of an $85 million retirement plan, Vice President of an offshore captive insurance company, and Accounting Manager. Prior to Safeguard, he was a Tax Accountant with an independent oil company for five years.
Tom received a BS in Accounting from Villanova University and has attended numerous insurance, risk management, human resources and financial seminars; he is a licensed Pennsylvania Insurance Producer.
